January Newsletter 2020
Happy New Year and Welcome back!
After a fantastic Christmas show I am excited to be back in the studio and start off the New Year. A big welcome to all new students and I hope all will make them feel welcome.
This term will be our exam term. Our in house exams are optional and can be taken in Ballet, Jazz and Street. The exams are a chance for the students to really showcase and progress their dancing skills in each genre. The exams will cost £2.50 each to be entered and will take place on February 10th and 11th before half term, a letter confirming further details will be going out in the next couple of weeks. There will be some technique exercises and a dance phrase to learn for the exam. Marks will be scored out of 100 in total. Students will then receive a feedback form which they are marked on technique, performance and improvement.
This term we have a few new classes starting which may be of interest to you or someone you know. Firstly we have out new musical theatre open class on Fridays 4:30-5:40pm. This class combines the three elements of performing arts and gives students the chance to showcase their skills. With singing dancing and acting we will be diving into the theatrical world of the West End and more. A really fun class open to all ages 7+. We also have some new young junior classes starting for ages 3-6. Angelina Ballerina and Mini S Movers will take place on Thursdays.
Our competition team have more competitions coming up in the next term and we wish them luck with their first one on 18th and 19th January 2020 and for the rest of the term.
Our Easter two day dance camp was a great success last year so we will be holding another camp this year. This will be held on 16th and 17th April so save the dates, all will be confirmed over the next month.
There will be no classes on Friday 24th January and Monday 27th January.
I look forward to another successful term with lots of opportunities coming up. Thank you all for your continued support.
